Continuous Change

Wake Up to Live with Desiree Leigh
This quote reminds me of how I continue to change throughout my life.  It's a good reminder because sometimes I do forget.  My beliefs and standard, for instance, have changed from two years, five years, and even ten years ago.  Obviously, I have matured with age, experience, and knowledge and with that I will always change.

This quote is a reminder that it is okay and very normal to our existence to change continuously, but also to remember how we did it.  When I was in my early 30's I looked back and knew that I would have never wanted to go back and be in my 20's again.  I felt so adamant and certain about things during that time.  Now that I am 50, the rule for me applies again.  From being certain and adamant about things, I have moved into the gray zone for many aspects of my life especially when it comes to various views in areas such as politics, spirituality, and relationships, for example.

I have also become more accommodating in many areas and less accommodating in others.  For example, when I was younger I found myself more accepting when people continued to abuse me, say hurtful things, or talked behind my back.  I would shrug it off quickly.  Only as I grew older did I realize it affected me deep inside, but I also deserved respect.  Today, I am less tolerant to individuals such as these.  On the other side, I am more accommodating and accepting to others that have different, but respectful, beliefs and standards in comparison to mine.

Change is normal.  Change is good.  Be open to change and change will be open to you.  Be willing to change as you grow and mature.  You will experience many realizations and revelations.

Wake Up to Live with Desiree Leigh

Wake Up to Live is about awareness in every aspect.  Waking up to live life is about questioning the social norms and the things that feel uncomfortable to talk about.  Wake Up to Live is about becoming awake to our biases, prejudices, and injustices. Waking up to live life is about waking up from unconsciousness to see what is really true.  Although waking up to live life with awareness and clarity may be difficult to do because now we must begin to make the hard choices, we must strive to Wake Up to Live and be responsible for our actions and the actions of others.  We are in this life together!
