Wake Up to Live! vs Wake Up and Live!

Wake Up to Live! vs Wake Up and Live!

Wake Up to Live with Desiree Leigh

How is wake up to live and wake up and live different from one another?  Have you ever considered the differences in meaning?  The preposition 'to' and the conjunction 'and' say it all.

The phrase Wake up and Live is connecting the words wake up and live. This means that the words are initially unrelated to each other, but with the conjunction, they now become related.

The phrase Wake Up to Live is expressing motion.  This means that you are doing something.  Waking up is causing you to live (a life) with action.  I like Wake Up to Live since my blog posts normally focus on taking action--waking up and doing something to make life happen: setting and following goals, calling a distant friend, standing up for injustices, and saying No because you need self-care, for example.  Once we wake up to awareness, seeing the truth of reality, we can still remain complacent in our lives.  Waking up does not mean that we automatically take part in life and do what are calling asks us to do. Waking up is not some sort of a revelation where all of a sudden all is well; it is far from that!  Once we wake up, we still must take action.  We must do.  We must Wake Up to Live Life!

Wake Up to Live is about awareness in every aspect.  Waking up to live life is about questioning the social norms and the things that feel uncomfortable to talk about.  Wake Up to Live is about becoming awake to our biases, prejudices, and injustices. Waking up to live life is about waking up from unconsciousness to see what is really true.  Although waking up to live life with awareness and clarity may be difficult to do because now we must begin to make the hard choices, we must strive to Wake Up to Live and be responsible for our actions: the actions for ourselves and others.
