Why Is Self-Correction Important to Self-Love?

Learning to love oneself takes self-correction.  Whenever we think of self-love, we think about doing things like,  prioritizing oneself being true to oneself being nice to oneself setting boundaries  forgiving oneself saying "no" taking a nap  taking a walk  breathing deeply sitting in stillness eating nutritiously emotional regulation making a gratitude list connecting with friends communicating honestly with others These acts of self-care are all part of growing ones self-love. Engaging in routine self-care has been clinically proven to assist in reducing depression, anxiety, stress, frustration, and anger while increasing happiness and energy and leading to better relationships. How to Gain Clarity:
Change Brings Contrast Brings Clarity

Wake Up to Live with Desiree Leigh

Many of us don't like it when things change. For instance, when your child moves to another country or your cat dies or your basement floods with all of your antique furniture you can understand that change can be hard. You may feel lost, sad or pretty pissed off.  So we have the environment around us that changes, but we also have the emotions within us that change. Change isn't always pretty, like getting a new home, a new hair-do or a new outfit. Change comes in many packages and different colored ribbons.

What change does, though, is that it brings contrast. When we plug along in life and something different happens it's called change--inside of us and outside of us.  With that, change gives contrast; this means that we see or experience what we like and what we don't like.

By seeing what we like and what we don't like, it brings forth clarity; thus, it expands our desires. Living in a diverse world also brings a great amount of contrast and then clarity. Every time you experience contrast it directs you towards what you want. Your focus becomes more clear.

So anytime you experience change or contrast, rather than reacting in a negative way, creating resistance to the flow of your desires, consider this. Look at the scenario, whether good or not so good, as a time to grow or to expand. See if you can become more clear at what you really want. Start fine-tuning your script of life. I am not saying that you'll be ecstatic when a pipe bursts in your home or if you get laid off from work, but doesn't it feel good and satisfying when you become even more clear on what you do want?

Clarity is a process. It never comes to an end. As long as we have the breath of life called desire and there is constant change in our lives, we will always be in a state of seeking clarity or fine-tuning what we want. So don't wait or put off your life just because you are not completely clear at what you want. You will never find out until you Jump In to the River of Life.
