Happy Lives Experience Darkness

Happy Lives Experience Darkness

"Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity." -Carl Jung, Mystic & Psychiatrist

We really are not here to live a life in a constant state of bliss. We are here to discern the truth of what we experience: to feel the pleasure and the pain. To understand and grow into our own beingness. We live in a diverse world of contrast, and we are not going to like everything. Can you imagine that? That would be pretty boooring.

It is up to us to look for the things that we do like and want but not condemn the things we do not like or don't want. The funny things about looking at things we don't want, is that it creates ideas and movement for what we do want. Hm. It sounds like it gives us more clarity. It is also up to us to react to things that we find challengin…

Paint Your Life

In our day-to-day life, we may encounter disappointments. This will result in a mis-alignment in our bodies causing illness. It is not the intent of our soul. It is more about what we are identifying with. It is caused by identification with the problem which is from an exterior perspective.

Then what do we do to ease the soul? Stop focusing on what is and begin feeling the intent of the soul. Create union with body and spirit. Clarify the truth of the situation. Always see the best out of every situation. No matter what! Rearrange your thoughts to see light. Or free yourself by daydreaming about what is fun. Imagine yourself where you want to be. Picture your desires and feel them rush through your body. Get positively emotional charged about them.

Some of us have been conditioned to believe that it is wrong, greedy or inconsiderate to think about what we want. We are not doing something bad. We are truly doing something good for ourselves and our health.

"To Laugh Often and Much..." by Emerson

"To laugh often and much;to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children;to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Wake Up to Live! How to Gain Clarity

Many of us don't like it when things change. For instance, when your child moves to another country or your cat dies or your basement floods with all of your antique furniture you can understand that change can be hard. You may feel lost, sad or pretty pissed off.  So we have the environment around us that changes, but we also have the emotions within us that change. Change isn't always pretty, like getting a new home, a new hair-do or a new outfit. Change comes in many packages and different colored ribbons.
What change does, though, is that it brings contrast. When we plug along in life and something different happens it's called change--inside of us and outside of us.  With that, change gives contrast; this means that we see or experience what we like and what we don't like.
By seeing what we like and what we don't like, it brings forth clarity; thus, it expands our desires. Living in a diverse world also brings a great amount of contrast and then clarity. Ever…

Declare Independence

Don't be at the mercy of your childhood beliefs unless you choose to hamper your present position of freedom. Assert your own independence and your own needs.

How do you initiate independence? By becoming a thinker for your self. To be a self-ruler of your own life is to make your own decisions; not cower down to someone else's beliefs, ideas or opinions. This does not mean that other people's thoughts are all wrong. It means they are just not yours.

It is a wonderful thing to live in such a diverse and multi-cultural world of contrast and to learn and experience all the many ways to do similar things differently, but any idea you bring forth through consciousness is yours for the shaping. You make the decisions. Look at it this way, you are the entrepreneur of your own life.

For me, a few years back, this would have scared the living daylights out of me. I was so... brainwashed by others making decisions for me it hindered me to do anything and to live a life tha…
